Welcome to the Amatava Mountain Paragliding Site. Thanks to the Owner of (Amatava Trust), The Amatava PG Site have mulitiple takeoff's from 200m agl to +450m agl, in all directions.

The New North-West Takeoff

Amatava now has a North-East 270m and North-West 340m Takeoff.

especially MGM MOTORS MOKOPANE for the vehicles sponsered to drive the pilots up and down and collecting them at landing.

How to get there:

 

How to get to Amatava:

From Mokopane:

  • Drive past the Percy Five turnoff
  • Pass underneath the bridge next road Left - 'Uitkyk'
  • Drive on gravel till you get to the 'Amatava Adventure Trails' sign

Site Info

Amatava is situated about 8km NE of Mokopane / Potgietersrus, Limpopo Province and is on private property.

Rules and Regulations

  • No caretaker/owner on site - No Flying
  • Flying by prior arrangement only
  • Only SAHPA members allowed to fly
  • Only 4x4 vehicle permits allowed
  • No smoking on Amatava property, incl while driving in vehicle, launch & landing areas. Smoking to be advice by caretaker/owner
  • No Fires!
  • No alcohol use on Amatava Trust
  • No littering, keep property clean. Please remove if you spot any litter
  • Adhere to general flying rules
  • Site briefing essential to 1st time visitors
  • Keep to and only drive on desicnated road to launch and turkey area
  • Keep gates as you found then, They are mostly closed
  • All visiting pilots and company must comply with SAHPA 'code of conduct'
  • Indemnity form to be sign before entering Amatava Trust.
  • Site fees to be paid to landowner.
